Senior Vice President of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Sharafat Ali Mubarik has demanded from all the commercial banks to extend loan facility amounting from Rs 0.1 million to Rs 3 million to small traders on personal guarantee. In a press statement issued here on Wednesday, Sharafat Ali Mubarik said the banks should assist small traders by providing them loans on easy terms so that they could stand on their foot and play their role in stabilising national economy.

The SCCI office bearer said the State Bank had already issued directives in this regard, but the banks were not implementing it as a result of which the small traders were facing difficulties in obtaining loan.

The small traders, he continued, have always exhibited great responsibility in return of bank loans and have always paid back the advances at appropriate time.

While concluding, Sharafat Ali Mubarik reiterated his demand from bank to follow the guidelines of State Bank and provide loan to small traders on personal guarantee.
